The TEF exam


-June 1998 TEF was the first general French exam introduced to the French Foreign Language market

-July 2002 TEF was recognized by the CIC (Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada), official organisation of the federal Canadian government.

March 2004 TEF was officially recognised by the French Ministry of National Education meaning that any foreign student can take the TEF course to help their application to the 1st year of French university. TEF can also be demanded by the university in order for foreign students to pass to the 2nd or 3rd years.

January 2005 TEF is certified ISO 9001 (certificate of quality from the AFAQ)

Where do I start?
As soon as you register for the TEF, we will send you a candidate pack with samples of the test.

It is composed of:
3 mandatory tests
-written comprehension: 1h
-oral comprehension: 40 minutes
-Lexicography and structure: 30 minutes

and

2 optional tests:
-written expression (1h)
-oral expression (35min)

The TEFAQ exam

The TEFAQ (Test of Evaluation of French Adapted for Quebec) is an adapted version of TEF and started in January 2007, it is required by the Ministry of immigration and the cultural communities of Quebec for a Visa application.

Where do I start?
As soon as you register for the TEF, we will send you a candidate pack with samples of the test.

It consists of 2 tests:
-oral comprehension: 40 minutes
-oral expression: 35 minutes (2 subject to cover)
